My Story

Hilary, a trauma-informed holistic mental health practitioner and transformational coach, brings a deep passion for neuroscience and innovative approaches to mental wellness. Her journey in mental health began with a robust foundation in journalism, where she spent over 30 years covering health-related stories. This experience gave her unique insights into the human experience, fostering her mission to make mental health and emotional well-being engaging and accessible for all.

Hilary's expertise spans various certifications, including Hypnotherapy, Integrative Nutrition, and Havening Techniques®. Havening, a pioneering neuroscience-based method that uses touch and positive thought to rewire the brain, is one of her specialties. Hilary is among the first 150 Havening Practitioners in the US and one of only 1000 worldwide. Her dedication to mental health advocacy and education led her to study directly with the co-developers of Havening, who recognized her as "The Pioneer Practitioner" for her commitment, public presence, and innovative contributions to the field.

Beyond her certifications, Hilary is an international speaker and health/wellness TV guest expert. She has traveled the world, sharing her knowledge on the impact of secondary traumatic stress and holistic healing. Her work as a veteran journalist included hosting health shows for CVSHealth/Aetna and creating Connecticut's first LGBTQIA+ TV program, focusing on transgender medicine and human rights within the healthcare system. These experiences deepened her understanding of the diverse needs within mental health care.

Hilary's globally top-rated podcast, HIListically Speaking®, is a testament to her commitment to inspiring conversations about trauma recovery. The podcast features discussions that turn experiences of trauma into triumph through health, healing, and humor. Her signature HUG it Out® Method motivates individuals to find self-healing through humor, understanding, and gratitude, promoting clarity, confidence, and calm.

At the Dahlia Center, Hilary's role is pivotal in expanding holistic mental health services. She integrates her extensive knowledge of neuroscience and therapeutic techniques to empower clients on their healing journeys. Hilary is the facilitator of our Holistic Mental Wellness Classes, offering a space for participants to explore transformative self-healing practices and build emotional resilience.

Originally from New York, Hilary is an avid traveler who loves adventure and the outdoors. Her passion for animals, theatre, and writing poetry adds depth to her holistic approach to life and wellness. Currently, she is working on publishing two books aimed at providing actionable steps and stories to empower emotional well-being for both adults and children.

Hilary's multifaceted career and holistic philosophy make her a valuable asset to the Dahlia Center, where she continues to inspire and support individuals in their mental health journeys.
